Celebrating the Best Geopark Films Showcasing Earth Heritage in UNESCO Global Geoparks

The 3rd GGN International Geopark Film Festival, held alongside the 11th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks, brought together an inspiring selection of films that celebrate our planet’s geological heritage and cultural diversity.

This year’s edition featured 50 videos in competition, submitted by 50 UNESCO Global Geoparks and aspiring Geoparks from 30 countries around the globe.

A distinguished jury of representatives from 229 UNESCO Global Geoparks and 40 Geopark professionals carefully reviewed all the submissions. After an electronic vote, the winners of the 3rd GGN International Geopark Film Festival 2025 were officially announced:

Award Winners

• 1st Prize: Kutralkura UNESCO Global Geopark – Chile
• 2nd Prize: Danxiashan UNESCO Global Geopark – China
• 3rd Prize: Lesvos Island UNESCO Global Geopark – Greece

The GGN International Geopark Film Festival continues to be a global platform for creativity, education, and collaboration — showcasing how Geoparks connect people to the Earth and promote sustainable development through storytelling.
