GGN Regional Workshops on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - 7/2025

The Global Geoparks Network, through its Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), invites you to participate in the following 3 GGN online Regional Workshops on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Agenda 2030:

24 March 2025: Regional Workshop on SDG’s for Geoparks Asia and Pacific (APGN)

26 March 2025: Regional Workshop on SDG’s for Geoparks in Canada and Latin America (GeoLAC and CGN)

28 March 2025: Regional Workshop on SDG’s for Geoparks in Europe and Africa (EGN and AUGGN)

All managers and management team members of the UNESCO Global Geoparks are invited to participate.

The aim of the workshops is to prepare the effective reporting of the Geopark activities on SDG’s during 2024 based on the experience and lessons learned from the 2023 SDG reporting exercise and future work toward achieving the 17 SDGs.

The following issues will be discussed:

What is the contribution of UNESCO Global Geoparks to the Agenda 2030 and their activities toward achieving the SDGs? – The 2023 SDG Reporting exercise.
How do UNESCO Global Geoparks contribute to the SDGs?
What makes UNESCO Global Geoparks ideal model territories for the SDG implementation?
Which lessons learned from the 2023 SDG Reporting?
How UNESCO Global Geoparks will proceed for the 2024 SDG Reporting?
